Funny Picture of a Shrimp Boil
We All Have Fun At This Camping Hood!
Sorry Gang, The last few weeks have been busy for us around our campsite, and I was there for 12 days with lots of things going on, and the Wi-Fi is very Hit or Miss at Pinewood. Our friends Jim & Judy H. came down from New Hampshire on the 12th. to stay for a week on a campsite with their 5th. Wheel close to ours, so we were playing catch-up with them since we haven't seen them in a year. And it was good to see them and spend some time with them. And Nancy and I had some trouble with our trailer that is going to take a while to get fixed, well at least it seems that way with trying to find parts being the way it is now with Covid-19. Our control panel for anything the works on 12 volts has something wrong with it, leaving us with no outside lights and unable to power-out our two awnings. But luckily the the guy who does repair on RV's here at Pinewood was able to get our hot water heater working by putting in a by-pass switch, so that we could at least have hot water to shower and wash dishes. ๐ And of course that weekend was the 2nd. Annual SHRIMP BOIL๐ฆ for me to do for our friends here at Pinewood!
So Now It's Time For The Pictures!

Well we all have had this happen to us at least once while we are camping, you know a heavy rain storm or in some cases even worst. This past week here in New England and especially here in Massachusetts we were waiting for the arrival of Hurricane Henri. Luckily, I was around to get ready for the possible heavy rains and high winds that were expected to come along with that hurricane or if we were lucky it would get down gradated to a Tropical Storm. So I thought that I would let you in on some of the things that we did to make sure that we didn't suffer much or any damage here at our trailer on our seasonal campsite here at Pinewood.
The first thing that I did was to get up onto the roof of our trailer to clean off any small branches and any other things, especially the pine needles that are here in abundance here at Pinewood, and I also cleaned out the narrow rain gutters to make sure that all rainwater would be able to flow freely. I also put wooden clothes pins on the ends of the gutters to extend them to help the flow of water go out further away from the camper ( just one of the tricks that I have on my Tips & Tricks page ) Next was to make sure that our new Pop-Up canopy was not going to blow away with any high winds ( they said that the winds could reach up to 60mph. at times here ) and where we are here in Plymouth we are only 2 miles inland from the coast, which is really not that far away during larger storms. So since our picnic table was already under the canopy I tied the canopy down to it after I lowered it with heavy rope, so that it wouldn't get blown away. I then packed-up all of our camping chairs and tied them down to the seats of the picnic table as well. We also put heavy rocks in the bottoms of the two trash cans that we have on site to weigh them down. Next was my truck, I moved it away from the large pine trees, so that it wouldn't have one fall on it or any limbs or branches. I then made sure that there was 10 gallons of fresh water in my holding tank, incase the main water line in the campgrounds got damaged, so that we would have water if that happened (another one of my tips) Then it was time to move inside and get things squared away. Close windows and roof vent and then I made sure that my cell phone and laptop were getting charged, for just incase we lost power here at the campgrounds, I knew that our 12 volt battery here in the camper always has a full charge, to be able to use our inside lights and the fresh water pump and one of our roof vent fans if need be. And last but not to be forgotten make sure you have food in the refrigerator along with cold beer. Our refrigerator can switch over to run on propane incase of loss of power, so also make sure your propane tanks are full, we always have one of our two tanks full (another one of my tips) So that about covers it. But, be a good neighbor and see if anyone on the campsite near you could use your help to be ready for a storm? If not hunker down and wait it out and see what happens is about all you can do.

I Have An Idea That I Am Going To Try? ๐ค
This coming weekend I am going to try out a little idea that I have been thinking about for a few weeks. It has to do with the rain gutters on the trailer, a possible way to keep them clean and maybe a way to stop the pine needles from getting stuck and jammed in the gutters and the downspouts. I'll be taking some pictures of what I am going to try to do along the way, so that I can pass it along to you. ๐คจ
I just wanted to add this in also: If any of you read my post on November 7/2020 About having your manuals for your camper and reading them and not just packing them in your camper, to forget about them. Well, I was lucky enough to remember the part that I read about, How to manually open and close our power awning, after our control panel shut down, and I was getting ready for what ended up being Tropical Storm Henri. If we could not have rolled them in manually we possibly could have had them damaged with any high winds, costing us thousands to repair or replace. Just goes to show you that those manuals do come in handy. ๐
This coming weekend is our 13th Annual Camper Crawl! When we get together with all of of camping friends (this is not a Pinewood event we hold this on our own, if you know what I mean ๐ ) There are going to be 8 campsites where we all stop and have maybe one or two adult beverages? And I'm not talking beer here! Last year Nancy and I served up a great concoction of pitchers of drinks called SEX ON THE MOON! And everyone liked them. This year it is going to be a drink that was popular back in the mid to late 70's. So stayed tuned and check out my post next Saturday to find out what drink we made this year and also see some great pictures. This is always lots of fun, and we all look forward to this event with our friends. And we even have T-Shirts made up for all of us. This years T-Shirts were even designed by Nancy ๐
